什么是马凳
马凳，临时用木料做成，也有用型钢焊制的，多为长条形状。由一块条形板钉四个腿，再在四个腿之间用板条拉结。四个腿要做得向外闪以保持稳定。在众多马凳之间放上跳板，就组成了临时操作台，木工站在上面吊棚；油漆工站在上面粉刷涂料；钢筋工站在上面绑扎钢筋等，都离不开马凳。
马凳用于钢筋工程中，含义有所改变，除了上述用于搭设操作台之外，专门指架起混凝土板中上层钢筋用的支架，约定俗成都叫马凳，形状有点像儿童玩具，有几字形，A字形，十字形，工字形，三角形等等，花样繁多，其中以几字形最常用，制作简单，使用效果不太理想，十字形效果最佳，使用料头，但需用电焊。
马凳在钢筋混凝土构件中，是必不可少的工件之一，特别是悬挑板，如阳台、雨蓬，受力钢筋在上部，呈悬浮状态，工人操作务必要在上面踩踏，最容易把受力钢筋踩到下面而失去抗拉作用，无数阳台雨蓬坍塌事件都是由此造成，为了保证悬挑构件的施工质量，马凳的作用绝对不可轻视，施工中，在悬挑部位的根部垫上马凳，使受力纵筋的位置稳固，就不会出现质量事故。
同理，在现浇板中，有许多支座上部钢筋都处于漂浮状态，这些受力钢筋的位置决定了构件的承载能力，而保证上部受力纵筋的位置，全靠马凳来架起并固定，可见，小小的马凳，起着一两顶千钧的无比重要的作用。
